CZ Police Hound out Free Party soundsystems before IMF meeting by mickfuzz 1:14pm Fri Aug 11 '00

CZ Police are hounding free party soundsystems out of the country while local police welcome them. FBI training in preparation for IMF meeting may be to blame.

Following the hugely popular Czechtek 2000, a mamoth free festival involving free party systems from accross Europe, The CZ STATE police have been persuing a policy of constantly moving on the musicians' vehicles, even when legally parked on public land. This much is confirmed, I've been travelling with Desert Storm ¨, Lego , Sub Sound, Hekate.

The local Police are happy for us to stay in their towns but they are given orders from above. The chief of the local police of the town Melkoslav woke us on Tuesday and was very apologetic about asking us to move on. There was nothing he could do.

Although the people sound systems were not breaking the law, they were faced with the Immigation police being called. The implications of this were unstated.

We were forced to split up into smaller groups and keep on the move. We want to do a free party this weekend but this may prove problematic. All czech soundsystems have said that they will not do any parties outside of squats until after the IMF meeting. The most defiant soundsystems are currently held up in a farm in 23K from Prague.

Circus Alien [CZ], Lego[Au], Sub sound [Au] and Desert Storm have been surrounded in a farm 23K from Prague.

The FBI Trained police are not allowing them to leave unless they accompany them to the border. They have also threated to take all vehicles apart.

I got an email from Kerry from Desert Storm saying they were planning to do a party anyway - Dont let The Bastards get you down. However the position of the State Police is clear - Hound out all free party sounds systems out of the country before the IMF meeting.

More news as it happens..
